STEAM

STEAM Program.   STEAM Program: The STEAM program combines Science and Engineering projects with Computer Science, Mathematics and Art using a number of hands on Science and Engineering projects, computer programming and robotics.

TEALS Computer Science Program.  The TEALS program is designed by Microsoft and is taught in cooperation with college and professional programmers. Students learn coding,  create apps and a variety of projects; the first semester teaches Snap! Block coding language and Python the second semester.

Engineering projects involve problem solving techniques highlighting sustainable technology including solar and hybrid cars, wind and solar energy, generating electricity and biofuels. The method of plan, build and improve is used to solve engineering problems.

The Code.org program is used for Computer Science and includes education on internet work; it  creates art and computer apps while teaching the JavaScript programming language.

The STEAM program also uses VEX robotics to build and program robots using the C+ programming language. Teams compete at the end of the year in a robot competition.
